PRIORITIES
HOMELESSNESS
Our homelessness crisis is out of control. The time for bold action is now. In the State Assembly, Annie Cho will work to urgently get people off the streets and into permanent housing as quickly as possible. From cutting bureaucratic red tape to fully funding mental health, support services, job-training programs, and more transitional and permanent housing solutions, Annie will do anything and everything humanly possible to clean up our streets, end the tent cities, and build safer, healthier local neighborhoods.
HOUSING
Annie Cho understands that to solve our housing crisis, we must urgently increase the production of housing, while also working to make it more affordable and create new opportunities for first-time home buyers. Additionally, we must develop commonsense solutions to streamline bureaucratic processes to both protect the character and integrity of our local neighborhoods, as well as simultaneously build more efficiently and effectively to create housing that is affordable so more people can buy homes instead of being priced out of the market.
STRENGTHENING OUR ECONOMY
With the cost of living going up, Annie Cho believes that it is critically important that we work to create more high-skill, high-wage jobs, protect working families, and invest in job-training and apprenticeship programs to build and grow our middle-class economy. At the same time, Annie knows that it is vital that we help our small businesses as they are the economic engine of California. In the State Assembly, Annie will advance a pro-small business, pro-jobs, and pro-worker agenda, ensuring that our businesses remain in California and that they not only can compete but also thrive and flourish. Annie Cho knows that a robust business environment in California is good for working people, businesses as well as our broader economy.
In addition to raising wages and creating more good-paying jobs, Annie will work to combat the rising cost of living. Annie supports gas rebates and will work to find pragmatic solutions to help Californians lower costs at the gas pump and she will work to reduce inflation through initiatives that increase supply chain productivity.
REDUCE CRIME AND IMPROVE PUBLIC SAFETY
It's no secret that crime is going up. That's why in the State Assembly, Annie Cho will work to support, partner with, and invest more in our law enforcement, 911 emergency responders, firefighters, and paramedics. Annie understands that to keep local neighborhoods safe, our police officers and first responders need the resources, tools, and support so they can do their job, increase neighborhood security and keep all of us safe. A strong law enforcement ally, Annie will be a collaborator with police and emergency responders to reduce crime and improve public safety.
HEALTHCARE
Annie Cho believes that healthcare should be affordable and accessible for every Californian. In the State Assembly, Annie will work tirelessly to expand access to high-quality care and make healthcare more affordable to people in our local neighborhoods and across the state.
WOMEN'S RIGHTS & EQUALITY
With abortion rights under attack, Annie Cho knows it's more important than ever to fight back and elect leaders who believe women should have not only reproductive freedom, but more importantly, freedom over their own bodies in every aspect. That's why Annie is 100% pro-choice and is a strong supporter of Planned Parenthood and abortion rights for all. Annie also supports equal pay for equal work, paid family leave, along with equality in the workplace and beyond.
EDUCATION
Annie Cho is a strong supporter of our public schools. In the State Assembly, Annie will work to fully fund public schools and ensure state resources are used efficiently and effectively to: help reduce classroom sizes, increase the use of technology in the classroom, bolster science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) courses, and expand after-school and extracurricular programs like arts, music, and sports. At the same time, Annie believes we must make college more accessible and affordable for every California student because all Californians deserve access to our world-class colleges and universities.
CLIMATE CHANGE
The debate about climate change is over. Now is the time for decisive, forward-thinking leadership. That's why Annie Cho is a strong supporter of investing more in clean and renewable energy, like wind and solar, to protect our air and water and reduce our carbon footprint. To reach California's clean energy goals, Annie believes we must increase the production and development of more clean energy technologies, which will create new clean energy jobs right here in our community. At the same time, Annie strongly supports investing more in our firefighters to ensure they have the funding needed to grapple with the increase of wildfires in our community and throughout the state. In the Assembly, Annie will join forces with California's firefighters to ensure they have the resources they need to keep us safe.
PROUD DEMOCRAT
Annie Cho is a proud Democrat and an unyielding supporter of the Democratic Party's agenda. That's why in 2008, Annie enthusiastically supported Barack Obama for President, and she supported his re-election in 2012. In 2016, Annie strongly supported the Democratic Party's first woman nominee for President, Hillary Clinton. In 2020, Annie proudly supported Joe Biden for President and Kamala Harris for Vice President. Today, she firmly backs President Biden and Vice President Harris' bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, the American Rescue Plan, and the Build Back Better agenda. In the State Assembly, Annie will work tirelessly to partner with the Biden Administration to move California forward.
COMMONSENSE LEADERSHIP
Too often, extreme voices are the loudest voices. Annie Cho believes that we need more levelheadedness, pragmatism, and common sense in government. In the State Assembly, Annie Cho will work to bring people together, find common ground and develop real solutions to the many challenges our communities face — because government should work to solve problems — not create them.
